It never fails to surprise me, the crap people will put up with. This is just a thought and not a reflection of my current state of mind! This rain and apps are making me emo;)

Some quotes on truth and self-worth:

Self-worth comes from one thing - thinking that you are worthy.- Wayne Dyer

When you please others in hopes of being accepted, you lose your self-worth in the process.- Dave Pelzer

The truth hurts for a little while, but lies hurt forever.- Eileen Parra

The hardest thing about searching for the truth...Is that sometimes you find it.- HJ

It's easy to believe someone when they’re telling you exactly what you wanna hear.- Unknown

You lose yourself... trying to hold on to someone who doesn't care about losing you. - Unknown

The naïve follow their hearts. The wise lead with their hearts. ~Author Unknown

Be there for others, but never leave yourself behind. ~Dodinsky

I couldn't find any good quotes on self worth:/. Maybe that is the reason people lack self worth? I'll look again next time.. But here is a LOL )<= yes I did it) worthy quote I did find: There's nothing like self-improvement to get your friends to like you for who you were. ~Robert Brault

Sometimes the best you can do, is to give it all you've got.

Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side.

But sometimes no one is happier than you.

11/26/11- Some thoughts

Hey Everyone,

I guess I'm finally ready to post some of my thoughts on here. In September, during one of my volunteer training sessions, we were taught about self care. The volunteers were asked to make a list of twenty activities we enjoyed doing, anything from napping to skiing. Then, we were asked how often we performed the activities from the list. Surprisingly, very few volunteers partook in their favorite activities on a daily basis. So answer me this, why do so many people believe growing up means not doing what they love?

Another thought I've had lately, is that as we grow older and make new friends, we'll never truly know the people we befriend. Adults are so good at putting up walls and false pretenses. Not to mention all the stuff they intentionally choose not to share. And... I could probably write about both topics for hours, but I need to resume working on apps! Just thought I'd write out a few thoughts on here, so I don't have these words floating around in my head!

Any comments or thoughts on the stuff posted above?

*** More words of wisdom on growing older. Just remember, we have gained more than we have lost.***

It's so easy to forget the people that meant the world to you.
Time is an unappreciated healer of all wounds.
Memories briefly resurrected, remind us of a time that once was
and shall for eternity, no longer be.

***What feeling, if any, does this evoke in you?***

Piece 1:
A desire to speak, to touch
Deep breaths regulate
Tabula rasa for once
Unlike the pride filled tin cans

Piece 2: Let Go
So it's been floating around now
maybe for a few days and counting
let it be
experience it
and when the thought is ready,
let it go
but only when it chooses to do so

***This seems an appropriate topic with the undeniable and unpreventable death of beautiful Summer! As Morrie Schwartz said, "Everything that gets born dies." ***

A glass jar of words never said
Isolated thoughts acknowledged before bed
A virus of love quarantined

One morning, I awoke, age fifty two
Certain in a few years I would readily spew
Every buttress in my heart
Words I wish I'd spoken from the start

But now you lay six feet underground
Leaving me behind, voice newly found
Leaking tears as I realize
It's too late
Never again will you materialize
Never again will you material
Never again will you
Never again will
Never again
Never
